Baileys fountain to climb that mountain!

When you look at the odds you presume something is up with 'Bailey's Fountain' in the 8:12 race. How could a horse who has won once and been placed twice in his three races to date be rated at 66/1?!

That win came back on the 22nd of December in the USA over the same distance. This will be the Hardrush's horse first time out on yielding so perhaps the bookies are worried he won't perform well. Still I think at those odds Bailey's Fountain must be worth considering.

The horse is mightier than the sword!

The record speaks for itself. Stamina Crown has been out 8 times, winning 4 and being placed in 4. The 2 year old fillie has raced on yielding twice.

The first of these runs came on the 17th of this month when she finished second. The Crown Stables Inc horse went one better on yielding in Hong Kong. She decimated a field featuring some high quality contenders. The odds for Stamina Crown stand at 9/1, a good price for a great horse.

Trojan Sword....lethal!

He's the talk of the town. This 3 year old colt has been tipped for great things following his impressive win in his first race in Australia over two weeks ago.

Indeed the woners Red Halo Race yard expect big things from him suggesting training times are blistering. The odds for him in the 9:12 race are 6/1, excellent value on an each way basis really. While Trojan Sword may not make it two wins on the trot it could be a placed finish.

Major Chase....the living legend!

If you ask me Getminted Racing wouldn't be what it is without the likes of Major Chase(Jonathon)! He now has his sights firmly set on the 100 wins after passing the 50 win mark a number of weeks ago.

The top horse in the Major Chase Stable in terms of wins and prize money attained is the excellent 'No Rush 1'. Jonathon joined us on the 25 of August this year and hasn't looked back since. A nightly texter into getminted I know he's as popular in the studio as he is with other owners. The major Chase stable is a large one with one horse called 'Liverpool Captain', so obviously I have to support this stable as a Liverpool fan myself! Well done Chase, keep up the good work.

Stamina Crown has got what it takes to go all the way in the 8:48 race

The record speaks for itself. Stamina Crown has been out 8 times, winning 4 and being placed in 4. The 2 year old fillie has raced on yielding twice.

More wide odds in the lucky last

Another interesting selection of horses with good odds in the lucky last at 21:55

My pick of the bunch would be Tipperary from BHAFC at 4/1 - coming in with a recent win and series of placings, these are pretty good odds for a good horse from a great stable

Getting better......can Wolver Kancha get another in the 20:12?

An interesting mix of horses and erratic form in the opening race tonight. My pick for the 20:12 has got to be the Ken Allan's horse; Wolver Kancha - at 6/1 it has to be worth an each way.

Another pick for an outsider could be Cupids Glory from the Clan - with a recent first place it might be worth a shot at 30/1

Good odds in the lucky last

There's some reasonably long odds on the favorites and some very long odds on outsiders in the 21:55 race.

The favorite; 2VOODOO 4 U from Race Invaders has got to be worth a look at 4/1, then as we look further down the field the ex Sir Charles horse Regal Average now owned by quizmike looks good for a place at 18/1 or even Domingo from TYO at 22/1.

Oh dear...not a good start

I think the Christmas break may have broken my recent good trail of tipping!! All my tips came in the bottom half of the field last night. Hopefully I can do better tonight.

I have my eye on a few horses in the opener (20:12)- woolloomoolloo from AML racing at 9/1 has had a few wins in it's recent history. Also Sir Charles' horse Astometeorology looks a good shot for a place at 18/1.

Constant Gardener.......

Constant Gardener from RuxtonRacing at 24/1 could be a great each way punt in the 20:48 race.....

It's had some really good recent form comng in to the race and the odds seem far too long?

There are also very generous odds in the 21:24 race - a few picks may be: RRTurnover at 3/1, Sweet Harmony at 22/1 from LUFC (who won 3 races yesterday) and Asbad from Meat at 33/1

Hope you all had a great Christmas - now back to the racing!!

You may have to shed a few pounds after the indulgence of Christmas, but you can hopefully earn a few pounds with an each way on Night Chronicles from Menace in the 20:12 race tonight

And qiessing from tblarsen has had some pretty good recent form at 60/1 in a mediocre field

In your face In your room!

That doesn't really make any sense but think it sounds good. Well the last time 'In your room' ran things really went about as badly as they could have gone. The only way is up after that performance and at odds of 13/2 the Red Halo Racing trained colt should have the ability to do well in the 9:48 from the USA.

Won on muddy back on the 29th of November , it was the third win in three races and if we forget the last poor showing then this horse has been lightening hot so far. Each way punt here could be interesting.

Come on sweet lady, you can do it!

How many times have I said that!! Anyway I think Sweetlady from the genie72 stable really has a chance of finishing in the top three for the 9:24 race in Australia.

Has only run once before, that was 5 days ago when she romped home in a field of 9 also here in Australia. A step up in class in terms of competition but at 33/1 she still should be good enough to go close.

If River Queen can keep her head above water she could deliver a place at 28/1

It's unlikely isn't it, a horse running in her 3rd race in 4 days winning. I agree, but perhaps in this average field 'River Queen' from the heinz stable might have just enough left in the tank before the Christmas break.

This 6 year old fillie won her last two races, both on muddy over a slightly longer distance. A hatrick at 28/1 won't happen but a placed finish in the 9:12 race might!

Great night last night for the tipster, can Boyhood dreams keep me in high festive spirits in the 9:55 though?

Yes after a barren spell we had a good night last night with Aaecus and Turguoise both finishing 2nd at nice odds of 10/1 and 15/1. Not bad atall. In the 9:55 race I must say I like the look of Boyhood dreams at nice odds of 18/1.

Generous odds considering the 2 year old’s record read 4 runs, 1 win and 3 placed finishes. Has never raced on muddy before but loves to run and could even sneak a win, an each way must.

Cemetry gates to frighten the pants off other contenders in the 8:48!
December 21st, 2005
There are so many good jokes I could have made about this horse’s name and this is the best I come up with???Think Christmas parties and one or two too many sherry’s have killed most of my brain cells! Anyway a horse to watch out for is the same ‘Cemetry gates’ who is looking for win number 4 out of just 10 races this evening despite never running on yielding going up to now. Finished 5th last time out in the USA and will want to replicate the performance of the 5th of December when she won in style in Australia. Current form overall is good and at odds of 10/1 she must be fancied to finish in the places at the very least.

Will he be ‘Back in Business’?
December 21st, 2005
Well this horse has only raced on yielding once before and guess what, he blitzed a full field of 14 back on the 20th of November in England. Granted it was over a further distance but still at 24/1 you must fancy the Menace trained menace to do well! All to gether the 3 year old colt has found the extra yard to win in 6 races and has been placed in his 18 runs to date. Been busy over the last week but I still think ‘Back in Business’ is good enough to do well in the 8:12 race.

This word sums up my last few days of tipping but is also the name of the horse who may turn my luck around—————”Disappointment”!

I hoped I’d see the odds for this fine experienced Diablo racing horse enter the double figures but at 6/1 she still represents good value in the 9:36 race . In 153 races so far she has won 28 times and been placed in 66. Indeed Disappointment’s last win was on muddy back on the 8th of December in the USA though to be fair it was in a small field of 4.

Overall muddy isn’t this fillie’s favoured going but experience and the will to do well should see her run strongly, a solid each way flutter wouldn’t go astray here.

Turguoise in the pink?

December 20th, 2005
Well the latest entrant off the dallas1 conveyor belt ‘Turguoise’ has started her virtual career in fine form. In 12 runs so far the 10/1 shot for tonight’s 8:57 race has won 4 times and been placed in 7, not bad atall, but then again what would you expect from a dallas1 horse? Muddy is arguably not Turguoise’s favoured going but still shes good enough to frigthen the virtual daylights out of all other contenders. Handy odds here for an excellent prospect.

Can Aeacus make it two wins out of two on muddy going?
December 20th, 2005
This 3 year old colt certainly has the ability to challenge at the highest level if only his consistency could be improved. Has won just 4 times out of 21 runs so far but has picked up 8 places also. Last time out on muddy Aeacus won over this distance in Dubai on the 11th of December all be it in a small field of 3. The Abbadon stable don’t suffer fools gladly and unless Aeacus picks up something this evening he could be on his merry way. At odds of 12/1 he may be good value to get the 2,100th placed finish for the stable.

Daylight Dick good enough to go close in the 9:48 showdown in Hong Kong.

An excellent field comes together for this epic race from Hong Kong. The Clan trained ‘Daylight Dick’ won last time on firm, that was in Australia over the very same distance on the 3rd of this month. All together the stats read 33 races, 7 wins and 11 placed finishes so on his day this 6 year old colt can do very well indeed.

At 15/2 he looks like good value to do something in this race.

Has Orb electric blown a fuse?
Unless the bookies are privy to some information that our punters are not the odds for ‘orb electric’ seem extreme. 34/1 seem like excellent odds for this experienced horse in the 8:57 race in Hong Kong. In 57 races to date the 4 year old colt has entered the winner’s enclosure on 8 occassions and has been placed 25 times as well. Last time out on firm he finished 2nd by less than a length at this very same venue so will be hoping to go one better tonight. Each way punt may be a good idea.

It may not be Last crack’s favored going but this colt means business.
December 19th, 2005
The record speaks for itself. In 6 runs he’s won 3 times and been placed twice. Usually runs on the more assured going of fast, firm and good so it will be interesting to see how this new kid on the block gets on over soft. Versatile and well able to adapt the distance shouldn’t be too much of a problem either for ‘Last Crack’ from the scanner’s stable. At 33/1 this one must have a chance of a placed finish at least in the 8:12 race from England.

Will our friend Andy be celebrating tonight?

AML Racing's horse named 'What the...' should do well in the 8:36 race barring disaster. A recent asquisition this 2 year old colt has only raced twice before but was unlucky not to win on both occassions.

Last time out he finished third in a blanket finish and could have easily registered his first win. Both races so far have been on fast going so this will be a new challenge for him. At odds of 7/1 'Wht the' represents good value for an each way punt.

Da Vinci Swindle 40/1...he must have had a leg amputated!
Okay so he's been entered in a number of claimers recently but theres no way that 'Da Vinci Swindle' if near full fitness should be priced at 40/1. In 13 competitive races he has won twice and benn placed 4 times but such statistics are not good enough for the Diablo Racing stable. Last time out on muddy over two miles he finished in second on the 26th of November in a full field of 14. I need a good run from the 3 year old colt tonight as recent tips haven't been too succesful. Each way punt here.

Beware the Vampire Queen in the 9:48
This horse will never be remembered as one of the greats but he's the Peter Crouch of horse racing. Determined and solid without being dazzling! In 24 runs so far he's won twice and been placed 13 times. Indeed Vampire Queen's record on muddy going is encouraging. This includes a 2nd place finish on muddy over this distance on this very track a couple of weeks ago. At 24/1 he could help to start your weekend off in style.

Daughter’s Pride has the edge over her stable companion in the 9:48 and should do well.

Joint second favourites for this race are Daughters Pride and Back to Dalston both at odds of 11/2. Frankly the former has the edge and could challenege for top honours in this race. In 18 competitive runs to date the 3 year old fillie has entered the winner’s enclosure on 3 occassions and has been placed 3 times.

However the owners ‘Lois’ stable want rid of this horse, he has been entered in two cliaming races, a good result tonight might affect Lois’s opinion though. Hasn’t raced atall in December so fitness levels should be high. This is Daughter’s Pride’s favourite distance so expect a good positive run, after all she is running for her place in the stable.

One way ticket to success?
December 15th, 2005
Great name for a horse by the way. Well at odds of 26/1 its difficult not to have a go on this 3 year old colt in the 9:12 race. One Way Ticket could do with a few more wins but the total of placed finishes aint bad. In 47 competitive races he has won 5 times and been placed in 24, thats a highly respectable 51% place to run ratio. Usually avoids this type of ground but has done okay on good going in the past. Last time out he secured a fine win on yielding going over 6 furlongs in Hong Kong. This distance won’t be a problem either as he is well used to sprint distances. Potentially could finish in the places.

Can Psicoanalista do the job in the 8:24 race from Hong Kong?
December 15th, 2005
How the hell do you pronounce this horse and what does the name mean…….oh hold on I get it now!? Well regardless of the tongue twister this fine 2 year old fillie may have enough to do well in this race at nice odds of 15/1. As its a maiden race she must fancy her chances. In Psicoanalista’s only race to date, a 2 mile novice race on fast in Dubai she finished 3 lengths behind the eventual winner in 4 th position out of 6. In truth though the Boyle1972 trained fillie could have nicked a third or even second placed spot if luck with with her. An each way flutter here might return a tasty sum!

Tonights tips!

Hope you've all had a good start to your racing week. Below find tonight's rather short tip options:

In the 8:48 race keep at eye out for 'Hypnotic Squid' at the attractive odds of 13/1. Then in the next race Regal Beast who's in excellent form must have a chance at 20/1. The question is will 'Back in business' do as the name suggests and at least finish in a place at 12/1. Tune in to find out more!

Will anybody fear the Giant?

Tonight marks Jossy's Giant's 30th competitive race. In his career to date the Butler's Yard trained horse has held his own winning 11 times and finding a placed finish on 9 occassions. A 5 year old colt he won on muddy last time out in a field of 7 and in all has won on this type of going 3 times.

His last race was on the 9th of this month so hopefully fitness levels will be back up to a high percentage. At odds of 13/1 this is certainly one to watch in the 8:12 race.

Long odds for the placed specialist Ribadesella in the 8:48
The term ' always the bridesmaid rarely the bride' rings a bell when talking about Ribadesella. In his 39 runs to date he has won just 5 times but been placed in 19. This 4 year old colt has been entered in a number of claimers recently so perhaps he will be leaving the stable before long. Hasn't raced in December yet so he should be fighting fit. Has done well over muddy in recent times and at 40/1 could notch up place number 20 tonight.

Cosmic Tearaway good enough to get his first win in the 9:12
Well this is only the fourth race in 'Cosmic Tearway's' career so he's still finding his virtual feet so to speak. In his three races so far the Diablo Racing trained colt has shown great potential finishing 4th in his last race out of a field of 13 on good going which is what we'll have for this particular race this evening. Good odds of 10/1 means he really has a chance to do well tonight and a win isn't out of the question. Perhaps a placed finish is more likley though- You Decide!

All three tips finished in predicted positions last night!

Sensational night last night as all three tips came in at long prices. I was especially delighted with Rainbow Princess's third place finish at odds of 25/1. After the Princess had led by example Wonderdog's Angie Nags at 14/1 made a late surge to claim third place in her race. Then to finish off the night in great style the experienced 'Cleveland Hills' almost snatched a victory in Canada but was pipped at the post by the favourite. Still a second placed finish at 10/1 is nothing to turn up your nose to! If you had anything on these guys let me know via the forum!

Moonstone to capitalize on great win in last race!

After 16 races Suzian’s ‘Moonstone’ was without a win despite peppering the winning line on many occassions of late. However 5 days ago in a full field in Canada over 1 mile the 3 year old colt found the strength to make it win number one. Encouragingly for tonight’s 9:48 race that was on fast going.

Normally rin on muddy and soft grounds perhaps good going will suit him better and at long odds of 38/1 this horse could snatch a place. Then I’d really be over the moon!!!!

Another SDownie horse to shine in the East!
December 11th, 2005
Well this is very rare. I’m backing a 2nd horse from the same stable to do well tonight. SDownie have ‘Off to Egypt’ running in the 8:48 and hope an incredible run of wins will continue for this 5 year old fillie. In just 17 races to date this girl has won 7 times (41% win to run ratio) and been placed 6 times (35%). Last time out on good she blitzed a field of 7 to win in style. Tonight the bookies have slapped odds of 20/1 on her which makes a nice price for an each way punt!

A Regal amazement awaits in the 8:36 race from Hong Kong.
December 11th, 2005
While this Sdownie trained fillie prefers other types of going rather than good she’s still terrific value for a placed finish at the massive odds of 26/1. Well rested she hasn’t been out since she won on firm going in England at the end of November. In 42 races so far ‘Regal Amazement’ has won 11 times and been placed in 24. Assured and confident she glides through fields with regal ease and should be good enough to nick a place in this race.

Two of last night’s three tips are placed at great odds, Cleveland Hills to join the party tonight!

Things are looking up tips wise. Last night Bewilderbeast finished second in the 9:24 race in Australia at decent odds of 15/1. While earlier in the eveing at 8:48 8/1 shot Orb electric finished in the same position though came so close to a victory. Still as Meatloaf said ‘Two out of three aint bad’! God I never thought I’d mention Meatloaf on this site! Anyway my third tip for tonight will be for Cleveland Hills in the last televised race of the night.

The bookies are offering odds of 10/1 for a horse who is at home running on the fast going. In 50 runs to date she has entered the winner’s enclosure 11 times and been placed a massive 24 times. A wee bit shorter than she usually runs on but still a good each way shot.

Just how good is Wonderdog’s Angie Nags?

December 10th, 2005
In the race preview for her last race owners Wonderdog said their horse ‘Angie Nags’ was a real quality fillie and its hard to argue with him. Even though she has only raced twice to date she’s been impressive, winning her last race on muddy yesterday. In her first race she was narrowly edged out of it by Royale Stoddy in Hong Kong. This will be the first time ‘Angie Nags’ has run under 2 miles but at odds of 14/1 shes one to watch in the 9:36 race.

Will there be gold at the end of the rainbow?
December 10th, 2005
In the 9:12 race in Canada I’m gunning for Rainbow Princess at odds of 25/1. A 3 year old fillie from the BHAFC stable she has won 5 races and been placed in 7 in her 15 race history. While normally a fan of the muddy going she’s good enough to handle the fast going at arguably her favourite distance. A placed finish very possible indeed.

A look at the form of my tips over the last week:

I just thought I'd have a look at how a £5 each way bet on each of my tips over the last week would have resulted. Each day I back 3 horses in the televised races.
Below are a list of the ones that came in and at what odds. Then I have calculated on the basis of a £5 each way punt how you would have done:

30/1 The Next Best Thing (1st)
24/1 The Iron Duke (3rd)
20/1 Trailerpark Trash (2nd)
11/2 Four Aces (2nd)
6/1 Kalypso (1st)
17/2 Cherokee Brave (1st)
8/1 Double W Double (2nd)

So 7 of the 21 tips came in. Thats obviously 1 in 3. The difference however with my tips is that they are usually long odds so comparisons with newspaper pundits who back horses at very short odds isn't realitsic.

Okay so if you had £5 each way on all horses you would have spent £210. The winnings from the tips above amounts to £311.25 so thats a profit of £101.25. This was a pretty average week so hopefully I can increase this figure on a weekly basis.

TIPSTER ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I don't mean to brag...... but I've been getting a wee bit of a knocking for some of the donkeys I've backed over the past few weeks so I enjoyed last night's results all the more. At the massive odds of 30/1 'The next best thing' romped to victory in style for an orgasmic performance! Also The Iron duke at 24/1 finished third. The night could have been even better had Stay Bright from Ireland emulated the performance of my other tipped entries but just fell short finishing in 4th in his race. Never the less I think any owner or punter would be straight on the forums had they backed a 30/1 winner!!! I'm sure I'll regret that as many of you probably did!!!!

Don’t mess with the Bewilderbeast in the 9:24!

While this 2 year old colt from the Golden Glory Racing stable has only been out once before the signs suggest conditions and distance in Australia will really suit him tonight. A born sprinter Bewilderbeast finished 2nd in a small field of 3 last Friday in Cananda and the shorter distance this evening will be more to his liking.

I know the owners are excited by this colt’s prospects as training has been going very well. Experience and quality in this field are limited so at odds of 15/1 I’d stick a few bob on this one for a placed finish at the very least. Best of luck to all owners and punters for this weekend’s races.

Don’t be put off by William of Orange’s last run out on good, this horse is quality!
December 9th, 2005
How short the memory can be. The bookies have written off ‘William Of Orange’s’ chances in the 9:12 race down under based on his last run on good going. On the 25th of November he finished 9th out of 14 in what has become known as just one of those days. However in his two previous runs on this type of going he won both. Owned by Ocean Park Racing he has won 5 of his 25 races and been placed in 8. Previously owned by the T’ O Brien stable as well as Hopeful Yard and Walmington this horse is one to watch for the future. At odds of 7/1 he makes a good each way option.

Orb electric to do well in the 8:48 in Australia

December 9th, 2005
Recent form for this 4 year old colt has been impressive. With the exception of a poor performance on the 26th of November he has run well over different types of going and distances. While good going hasn’t always produced this horse’s best results he’s still a great prosepect in this race at odds of 8/1. In 54 runs to date he’s won 7 times, thats a 13% win to run ratio but has come close on so many occassions to adding to that figure. In his last race for example ‘Orb electric’ finished just half a length behind Zipper in a race he could have won had luck gone his way. Has been placed in 24 races (44% place to run ratio) so an each way punt tonight may produce a tidy return one way or the other.

Impressive 'Western Group Stable' eye up the 50 wins mark

While checking out another owner's stats I came across the 'Western Group' who joined us on the 5th of July this year. Their ratio of wins and places to runs is most impressive and if they continue at the curent rate should pick up the 50 wins before too long.

In 162 runs, they have amassed 32 wins and 71 placed finishes which isn't half bad considering they are a relatively new stable on Getminted. The top horse in the stable is the well travelled 'Rebel Rouser'. The 7 year old colt has had 7 owners in total but now confidently runs for the stable who have orange, green and yellow silks. Others to keep an eye out for are Rebel Princess who has started off her virtual race career in style. New to the stable is Madawaska and if he can learn off the old master 'Rebel Rouser' then who's to say he won't have a glittering career also.
Well done Westen Group, We'll be keeing an eye on your stats and wish you all the best.

Good run by Trailerpark trash last night, The Iron Duke good enough to do better though!

At 20/1 Trailerpark trash’s third place finish last night was a welcomed result and with another little burst it could have nicked second position. In the 9:48 I’m tempted to back the Iron Duke for the win but perhaps a placed finish is more likely. This Butler’s Yard trained colt has won once and been placed 3 times in four competitive races. Also picked up a win in it’s only claiming race to date.

Both wins came on fast going at the same 2 mile distance he will face this evening in Dubai. Raced last Monday so should be fit, eager and ready to do well tonight. Lets keep our fingers crossed that he does with an each way flutter at odds of 24/1.

Irish eyes will be smiling if ‘Stay Bright’ can keep the good form going!
December 8th, 2005
The age change didn’t come at the best of times for Stay Bright but still he’s a formiddable contender in the 8:48 race from Dubai. In just three races to date the 3 year old colt has won twice and been placed once. Some horses wait weeks if not months to collect their first two wins but ‘Stay Bright’ managed in in his first two. The first race in particular is of importance, over fast going over this distance he decimated a field of 9 to announce his arrival to Getminted. Odds for the boyle1972 horse today are 22/1 which looks nice. An each way punt here wouldn’t be the worst move in your life!

Next best thing to be true to his word!
December 8th, 2005
Took a rest from running yesterday after being out on the 5th and 6th of this month. ‘The Next Best thing’ was placed in both of those races and has an impressive list of statistics at present. The Menace trained colt has raced 6 times, won 3 and been placed in the remaining 3. One of those wins came on fast going on this very track in the USA over exactly the same distance. A hard working horse he has run in a mixture of large and smaller fields and should go close tonight. At odds of 30/1 he should be good enough for a place if at least 90% fit in the 8:36.

Response to Major Chase forum posting

Chase my old friend, no offence taken I can assure you. Many including myself would agree that some of the tips come to nought but I suppose that's what you get when you try to back an outsider at long odds. I really don't mind if I don't pick many winners on the live show, I much prefer a long shot being placed after I tip it that day.

It takes a lot more to offend an Irish man!! You're a great guy and help make the show what it is through your texts. Best of luck with your runners today and in case I don't speak to you between now and then have a lovely Christmas mate. All the best, Graham

BAYWALKER Hits the 100 wins mark!

Well it's been a while coming but well done to Scott at the Baywalker stable for notching up win number 100 with Celtic Dead Zone earlier today in Dubai.Having joined on the 22nd of May this year Baywalker have also seen their horses placed on 369 occassions.

With 50 horses in the stable it's one of the busiest on Getminted and it's only a matter of time before win number 200! Most of the horses in the stable are called 'Celtic' something which as an Irish man I appreciate indeed! Actually Scott can you let me know where in Ireland you are from if the celtic connection is from across the Irish sea.

The top horse in the stable is Celtic Shamrock with 8 wins. Others to watch out for are Celtic Magic and Celtic Lord. Well done again Scott, best of luck and have a great Christmas mate.

Another good result for the tipster though i was sure it would be a 1st place finish rather than second. Anyway Viva Brad Davis to make up for it in t

Yes while I was happy my 11/2 tip Four Aces grabbed a second place finish in Australia last night I was sure a win was on the cards. Still well done to you if you had something on it. Tonight in the 9:36 race from England I fancy ‘Viva Brad Davis’ to finish in the money places at very long odds indeed of 42/1. Granted the 3 year old colt has been very busy of late and fitness levels may be dwindling but he’s proved in the past he can handle this going and this distance.

Indeed his last race was in exactly the same conditions when he won in a small field of 4. With Christmas on the way a result here would put a smile on a lot of faces, placed finish expected.

Trailerpark Cash?
December 7th, 2005
Well you won’t find any world beaters in the 8:57 race from England thats for sure. With this in mind I fancy an outsider to secure a place at least and belive Lister’s ‘Trailerpark Trash’ may be the one to do it at odds of 20/1. In 10 runs this 3 year old fillie has won twice and been placed 3 times though has never run on good going before. Her last win came in the USA on the 19th of November when she beat a full field to take the win. Has the ability to do that more often but just needs the experience under her belt. A t these long odds I fancy Trailerpark trash to nick a place.

Maiden race full of suprises but I’ve a sneaky feeling LUFC horse will run well!

December 7th, 2005
Into the unknown here but I’m basing my tip on the owner’s credentials rather than much to do with the horse. Paul (LUFC) has ‘hollow man’ running in the 8:36 at nice odds of 15/2. Bought on the 1st of the month can this 2 year old colt add to the hoard of wins notched up by the stable in what is his very first run. LUFC has 95 wins out 708 runs and has also had placings 248 times. In this field where only the outsider has any experience perhaps ‘Hollow man’ can deliver the goods . Each way punt here.

Tips, Orb stable and all that jazz!

Just a quick message for the Orb stable:

Thanks very much for your forum posting Orb and your enquiry regarding tipping. I really don't intentionally use a pool of owners when deciding tips but I can see how you might think this my friend. I only tip on three races a day and these are from the ten races which are running during the broadcast so it narrows down the owner spread.

In addition if I see a succesful owner has a horse running at attractive odds then it takes my eye. I usually go for placed finishes by horses at long odds rather than wins by favourites at short odds. My job is to try and help win money for punters so while I would like to tip horses from all stables its just not realistic as in real racing. However if I see a good horse from a new stable then of course I will throw my weight behind that one.

It's a shame that you still can't view the show in the States. Perhaps we could record a show and send it to you at some time. Best of luck with everything and have a lovely Christmas.

Great win for Kalypso last night at 6/1, but can four aces pull off a similar result tonight?

A fantastic late surge by ‘Kalypso’ last night saw the 6/1 shot pick up a fine win as predicted. Tonight a horse at similar odds of 11/2 could pull off the same result. ‘Four aces’ has won 5 times out of 42 runs but has also notched up 23 placed finishes, thats a whopping 55% , not bad a tall. In two races on fast in November she finished 3rd and 2nd especially unlucky on the 24th of November when she was pipped at the post by Hang Seng.

This 4 year old fillie has frustrated the owners ‘John Ellis’ recently though with a string of poor runs. Hopefully that off colour patch is behind ‘Four Aces’ and she can deliver in the 9:55 in Canada.

If the Queen is reading this put the crown jewels on ‘Luxor Princess’!
December 6th, 2005
I am an anti-royalist so I shouldn’t be dissapointed if ‘Luxor Princess’ failed to get a good run! But in all seriousness these are very nice odds indeed for the third favourite in the 8:48 race from Canada. Well used to this distance of 7 furlongs the old fillie finished 2nd out of 14 in Dubai. In 54 runs she has won on 10 occassions and has been placed 23 times. 3 of those 10 wins came on fast going so the odds of 17/2 seem like a good deal from our old friends the bookies. As I’ve said before there’s something about these odds which sees the horse on them do very well. Maximas will hope ‘Luxor Princess’ gets a good start in Canada, if she does anything can happen, good each way potential.

Two weeks since El Burro ran, can he do well at attratcive odds?
December 6th, 2005
El Burro was bought from the sales ring on the 2nd of November. In 6 runs in November he won once and was placed on 4 times. Most of these runs were on fast going so he won’t have a problem on fast going this evening. The last run for El Burro was on the 25th of November when he finished 3rd out of a field of 14 and it seems the english translation meaning ‘the donkey’ is a bit harsh. A consisitent solid performer the odds for the El Zorro trained colt for this evening’s 8:12 race are 13/1. This will be a slightly shorter distance than El Burro is used to but I still fancy him to get a placed finish.

Wonderful news that Andy of AML Racing is home.

As owners have stated in the forum it is excellent news that Andy of AML Racing is home following the tragic events of a few weeks ago. We hope he stays with Getminted but one way or the other we hope your recovery continues quickly Andy.

Forum Postings about presenters

I'm not going to go on about it, but please keep forum postings clean. I know most of you do anyway but there was one in the last couple of days regarding one of our presenters which was out of order. By all means feel free to criticise us if you feel our presenting isn't how you like it but leave personal comments out.

Now lets put that behind us and move on. By the way I like the name 'caesar' for our mate Ces Loader. Good one Lord Jinxy. Ces is a walking encyclopedia so I'm sure the name would be very apt indeed. A great guy who gives it his 100%, I'm sure he'll really appreciate your kind comments.By the way we may have a new presenter coming to your screens in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that.

Last night on channel 235!

If you tune into Sky Channel 235 tomorrow night at 8 pm I'm afraid you won't see your beloved red faced Getminted Presenters! We are moving to Sky Channel 279 with the same show so don't forget to make a note of it.

The Channel is called 'you tv2'. As far as I'm aware all text numbers remain the same. So basically its just a channel transfer. Gabe Turner and I will be reminding you tonight anyway but I'm sure there will be postings on the forum saying 'Where is the show'! So tell as many owners as you are in contact with to avoid any confusion. Thanks guys and gals.

Though it’s not the right time of year, I fancy a Kalypso!

For those of you who are not aware a ‘calipso’ is a very tasty ice lolly! Anyway what about the Redcliffe trained ‘Kalypso’ who is running in the 9:36 race from Australia at odds of 6/1. The only real worrying factor involved is that this 3 year old colt has raced twice over the last two days finishing 3rd on both trips out. Unlike a lot of horses in this field ‘Kalypso’ is well used to Good going and has ample experience over this distance also.

In 13 competitve races since starting his career on the 15th of October he has won twice and been placed 9 times. While obviously I would love to see a win perhaps a second place finish is more likely. Either way well worth an Each Way punt. Tune into Getminted Racing on sky channel 235 between 8 and 10 to see how he does, but remember from tomorrow night on you will find us on channel 279.

Well rested though his future at the Bailey stable is in doubt!
December 5th, 2005
Dain Waris has run in a host of claimers lately and has shown why he’s good enough to challenge at the highest level. Owned by the Bailey stable this 3 year old colt has won 3 of his competive races to date , the latest being on the 4th of November on muddy going in Dubai. In 17 races has only felt good going beneath him on one occassion. That was back on the 16th of October when Dain Waris ran a very strong race over a slightly shorter distance than he will face in the 8:36 race finishing 2nd to ‘Underperforming’. Hasn’t been out since the 26th of November so should be as fit as a fiddle. Odds of 20/1 makes him a very attractive each way contender this evening in Australia.

Salsabil to shine in the 8:24
December 5th, 2005
The recent form for this bluess7 horse has been good without within being excellent. Placed in her last three races Salsibil preceeded this hatrick with two fine wins on yielding and fast going. Picked up from the sales ring on the 1st of April this fillie has ceratinly been no fool winning 11 of her 44 runs to date and being placed in 24 also. Hasn’t raced on good going since the 1st of September when she finished 5th out of a full field of 14 in Hong Kong. At generous odds of 7/1 she is well worth an each way flutter.

Despite favouring other types of going, Whispering Death has to be considered for a good show in the 9:48 race

There is no doubting Whispering Death’s quality. The 30/1 3 year old fillie from the Ollie Holloway stable is looking for a hatrick of wins having entered the winners enclosure in Dubai and Canada recently. The stats show :20 runs:4 wins: 9 places.

Favours the muddy going but as a high quality sprinter she is good enough to secure a placed finish in Dubai at these attractive odds.

The Jury is out on the Vivienne Ann trained horse in the 8:48 race but surely he’s worth a flutter!
December 4th, 2005
‘The Judge’ has shown clear signs that he’s not to be taken lightly in his brief time with us on Getminted Racing. In 8 runs, he has won once and been placed in 6 races. Last time out he made short work of a full field to record that first victory. Likes the fast and should run well over this going in Dubai. The bookies are of the opinion that ‘The Judge’ will find it too difficult but I don’t agree. At 66/1 I think a placed finish is well within his capabilities.

Andalucian good enough for a place in the 8:12 despite very long odds!
December 4th, 2005
Again I’m gobsmacked by these odds for Andalucian. Perhaps the owners ‘Roman N Jose stables’ can shed some light on this or maybe the bookies have just got it terribly wrong. At 60/1 its hard to avoid this 4 year old colt especially on fast going. Last time out on fast he won in style on the 22nd of November. Granted it was a smaller and inexperienced field but still a win is a win. It was the 3rd win in a 47 race career and despite the feel good factor it will have generated within the stable, its win to run ratio is still very poor at 6%. However Andalucian has no problem finding a place, the place to run ratio stands at 53%. Certainly worth a flutter for yet another placing this evening in Dubai.

Praise for Ces Loader!

Last night while the rest of us were drinking ourselves silly at the Christmas Party Ces Loader and Garteh Wild produced one of the best Getminted's according to the forum! The praise for Ces was excellent to see and I'm sure he'll be delighted. Below I've posted a message from Betty's Blinders stable. Thanks for that mate and hope your neighbours find a nice new place!

"Just like to say a massive "thumbs up and well done" to CES that covered the show last night.

I have only had the ability to view the show for a few days but found that despite being on his own he "appeared" to cover more horses in previews,he managed to read out all texts in a jovial manner and above all, gave a commentary full of enthusiasm and excitement.

My horse,1ST At Wrong End (pipped on line)was given a tremendous commentary,so much so our neighbors have put up a "for sale" sign outside their horse this morning, due to the noise of excitement from me last night!!!!!

I think the shouts of "whip it, whip it" were just too much for them!

Thanks CES and Gareth.

BRILLIANT!

After Cherokee Brave’s win and Double W Double’s placed finish last night I’m feeling brave, now I just need the Lord Jinxy horse to deliver!

Fantastic results last night. I tipped the 17/2 Cherokee brave and he delivered the goods winning in style! Also Double w Double had the legs for a second place finish at 8/1 so all in all a good night’s work for the tipster. In the 9:12 race tonight I’m taking the unusual step of backing a horse who hasn’t raced on anything like the conditions underfoot down under. ‘Sailorvenus (JAP)’ has only one race under her belt to date.

He finished 4th out of 7 in the USA over a much longer distance. I have a feeling this Lord Jinxy trained fillie is more of a sprinter though and at 28/1 fancy this one for a good run. Each way territory!

Inexperienced colt to challenge in the 8:36 at very attractive odds!
December 3rd, 2005
Its rare indeed that a third favourite is 17/2 but these are the incredible odds for ‘Bold and Bald’ in the 8:36 race from Australia. Owned by the Lois stable he has only raced on three occasions since being bought on the 8th of November. Excellent when first out winning on soft going in Hong Kong. Followed this up with a 2nd place finish in Dubai and in truth was unlucky not to win again, beaten by a late surge from ‘The Iron Duke’. The last race on the 30th of November was poor however when he finished in 11th position in a full field of 14. This will be ‘Bold and Bald’s ‘ first run on firm. At these odds though must be worth an each way punt.

Silver Cat to get the cream in the 8:12 down under!
December 3rd, 2005
The bookies obviously have based their odds for this Foxy911 trained colt on the poor showing when he last raced on firm. On a British course he trailed in 12th position back on the 28th of November disappointing the owner and punters alike. Tonight Silver Cat is quoted at 13/1 which in my opinion is a wonderful price. With the exception of that poor performance in England the Cat normally likes firm going, usually placing and some times winning. In his 57 races to date he has won 7 times and been placed in 24 races. I expect place number 25 this evening.

GETMINTED RACING TO MOVE SKY CHANNEL

I've been asked to let all viewers know that Getminted Racing will be moving to Sky Channel 279 as of next Tuesday 6th December. The new channel is called 'you tv2' and is also available on Freeview. SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN....
Basically things should remain as they are. Automated racing maintaining its 6 pm to 8pm slot midweek and 10am to 1pm time at the weekends. The 8pm to 10pm live show will still be in place also. The new look channel is an interactive games channel which may well suit our programme content better. Please remain reassured that the state of health of Getminted's broadcasting is still very positive and this move does not reflect any alternation to the contrary.

You’d be brave not to back the Cherokee!

I’ve had most of my good placed horses coming in at odds of 17/2 recently and as a result it’s a price I always keep an eye out for. In the 9:55 in Canada, a one ‘Cherokee Brave’ hopes to make it win number 5 of a 27 race career which has been one of stops and starts. Last time out on muddy the Weaver83 trained 4 year old colt was unlucky not to have picked up a win finishing second in the USA to Waterbed.

Encouragingly he won his previous race on muddy in Canada on the 28th of October. Muddy is without doubt Cherokee Brave’s favoured going and at these odds it’s hard not to go each way.

Good morning Sunshine!
December 2nd, 2005
Well this little horse has really been terrific so far. Has raced just twice but in both displayed real quality and determination. ‘Good Morning’ won his last race in Canada over this distance and on the yielding going. The bookies seem to believe that the St. Ives trained horse will be a small fish in a big pond in the 8:36 race installing him at odds of 44/1. Has had a week since his last run out so fitness levels should be high and a placed finish is well within his capabilities.

Double W Double to double amount of wins in Australia?
December 2nd, 2005
It’s a real probability at the nice odds of 8/1. Fairly inexperienced this 3 year old fillie has won once and been placed in 3 of 6 runs to date. Has only raced on yielding once before but did well finishing in third in Hong Kong in a race which was won by Bondage Babe, not the owner the horse. She has also won twice in four claiming races and has shown signs of real quality since her first run on the 9th of October. Owners Bond007 and shrewd punters will be hoping for a big run here from Double W Double and at these odds must be worth an each way punt in the 8:12 race.

Tonight's Getminted on Sky Channel 235 - Lets start this new season off with a bang!

I hear rumours that Dallas1 has gone into hibernation and that he won't wake up until next February! If anybody knows where he's sleeping make sure and let us know and we'll go and wake him up! However LUFC may do that for us! Well on the first show of the new season you have the pleasure of Ceri Barnett and myself calling home your horses.

The tri-cast challenge for tonight is at £100, it would be a nice way to start the new season by winning it so try your best. Also we'll have the lucky text tip a little later, £25 to be won, or you can take a more difficult question for a double or quits and possibly win £50. Well done to Stewart from Carp stable who won last night.Best of luck to all our owners, old and new.

As the sun goes down on another season, can Sahara Sunset start the new one off with a bang?

Well the long wait is over owners. A new season is upon us. I hope the age changes didn’t hurt your stable too much but I know we’ll have to say goodbye to some of the great old horses who have given us such excitement over the past year especially. A new season brings new expectations and I truly hope you reach your individual goals be they 500 or 5 wins! Well a horse who may nick an early win of the new season is the Zipster trained ‘Sahara Sunset’ who lines up in the 8:48 race at the short odds of 33/10. However three times your investment wouldn’t be bad!

This 4 year old fillie has had good success over fast in recent weeks winning back on the 10th of November in Canada on this very going. The distance will be a bit long for him but this is a quality horse who can do serious damage when running at full trottle. ‘Sahara Sunset’ for the win!

Clear the runway, here comes the Jet!
December 1st, 2005
A horse of fine pedigree, this one used to belong to the Ken Allen’s stable but is now enjoying life in the Guaybanex stable. ‘Jet Kancha’ has raced on 72 occasions , winning 14 times and being placed in 29. Its a very decent place to run ratio of 40% and at odds of 15/1 this 6 year old colt certainly has a fine chance of nailing a place. Well used to fast going the best recent run came in the USA where he was narrowly beaten by Elgar when a win looked on the cards. In the last televised race of the evening the jet could leave the rest for dead if running at his best. Each way Flutter advised folks.

Its in the stars! Capricorn Leo is run well in the 9:24 race
December 1st, 2005
Before I get to this horse what a great name by Bryan1969 for his horse in this race ‘SallyTraffic’, obviously a Radio 2 fan! Anyway ‘Capricorn Leo’ is coming in at odds of 13/2 for this race despite the fact that her best results in recent times have come on fast going. Last time out on fast finished 3rd in Dubai over this distance in a full field of 14 which included some decent horses such as ‘Spoon Fed’ and ‘K-39 Murmansk’. Been busy recently but set for big things. In 11 runs she has won once and been placed three times, worth an each way flutter.
