Explosive Semtex too hot to handle!

What a sensational run by my tip Semtex in the 9:36 race last night. At nice odds of 9/1 the 4 year old fillie romped home for Diablo racing so hopefully you took my advice and backed her. I see on the forums where alot of the owners are picking their favoured starting eleven for England in the World Cup. My opinion is that even with a full squad England still don't have a hope of lifting the trophy. Expectations in this country are always wildly optimistic and the press here set the National side up for a major fall every time.
Don't get me wrong the players are here but with Sven in charge the side would do well to reach the semi's. Steve Mclaren isn't good enough either. Anyway for all tonight's top tips please click on read more......

Gazino - 8:12 - 50/1

Well the main reason I am backing this horse for a place in the first televised race of the night is because his competition isn't too hot thats for sure. Unlike many others in this line-up the 4 year old colt has a decent track record on muddy going. In 29 races to date he's emerged victorious in 4 and been placed in 5. I'd be the first to agree that this record is poor but it stands up when compared with the others in this field. Had a nightmare yesterday in Canada but he's better than this and may be able to turn things around this evening. Each way potential.

Talk of the Tyne - 8:36 - 13/2

You'd be foolish not to consider this contender from the LUFC stable. Paul has clearly spotted that this 4 year old fillie fancies yielding going and shes enjoyed ample success as a result. In 32 career runs so far she's earned £141 for the stable and many feel her best is yet to come. Has one win and three placed finishes in the last five races and hasn't run for over a week so she should be eager to let fly in Australia. Could well win but a placed finish is more likley.

Sunset strip - 9:24 - 10/1

As I'm presenting tonight on the live show with Ceri Barnett I'll probably be shot for backing this one instead of the favourite 'Craving Ceri'! However 10/1 is a nice price for Sunset strip who has impressed me in her three races to date. Owners Big Billy should be confident that this 2 year old fillie will do well with back to back placed finishes. Perhaps a win is beyond her but an each way bet may be a wise move. Remember this too is the lucky text tip race where £25 in credits can be won for your stable.

The virtual legend of Lady Killer!

When it comes to greats on Getminted racing 'Lady Killer' takes some beating. Last Thursday the Ken Allan's trained 6 year old fillie made it 100 wins when she coasted home in the USA. Bought on the 9th of December 2004 for just over £8 she has now competed in 296 races with earnings of £6,563.

Lady Killer now has her eyes set on the record of Kingfisher who won 110 races in a glittering career. A fantastic horse with excellent training Lady Killer should do it and cement herself as the gem of Getminted.

Chelsea champs but birmingham and West Brom go down

Firstly congratulations to all our Chelsea owners as well as producer of Getminted Racing David Lightfoot after Chelsea's 3-0 thrashing of Manchester United secured their second consecutive Premiership trophy. Sadly at the bottom of the table Birmingham and West Brom were relegated today and I know Sal and Claire and my co-host Andrew Cheal will be gutted as all are Birmingham fans. Away from the football well done to Anushka last night who secured a 3rd place finish as predicted on this blogsite at handy odds of 18/1. For all tonight's top Getminted racing tips please click on read more.....

Some Picture - 8:57 - 7/1

The recent form of this 5 year old colt suggests he's going to be a real contender tonight at good odds. Some Picture won his last race on firm back on the 11th of April decimating a field of 14 in Australia and owners Stato will be confident that he can do well. In 56 competitive races he's won in 7 and has been placed in 20. Rested since his last race when he finished 2nd on the 20th of April in Hong Kong fitness levels should be high. A good each way shot.

Beef Stu (NZL) - 9:24 - 18/1

All eyes will be on this race tonight as it's the Getminted Monthly Challenge Final. Meat will be confident that his charge 2 year old Beef Stu can do well even if the bookies aren't so sure. In his 4 races so far he's won and been placed and at his best could even win this race. However its more likely Beef Stu will nick a place in whats sure to be a very competitive final. Another horse to watch out for in this race is Carrera GT at 46/1. Coming in on the back of a fine win, I've heard alot of smart money is going down on him this evening.

Semtex - 9:36 - 9/1

Even though this 4 year old fillie from the Diablo racing stable hasn't won since the 18th of March she's still been impressive. In 89 runs she's earned £1,575 (18 wins/34 placed finishes). Very familiar with muddy she's had many of her greatest days on this going.I'm actually suprised that the odds arent a bit longer after Semtex's last run when she finished 14th out of 14 just four days ago. Still I think class is permanent and expect to see a strong finish from her tonight.

Middlesbrough magic - tri cast tragic!

I know we've a good few Middlesbrough fans as owners on Getminted and I'm sure you guys are on cloud nine after last nights 4-2 win over steua Bucharest in the Uefa Cup semi. Well done guys, terrific win. On the home front the tri-cast challenge is back up to £300 in credits. A tidy amount especially for the newer stables. If you're unfamiliar with how it works please click on the 'earn up to £300 in credits' section to the right of here. Hopefully you'll have a good start to your bank holdiay weekend with a few winners tonight. For all the fun, tension and drama of real racing watch Getminted racing on Sky Channel 850 tonight with Alexis Watts and Lynsey Hooper. For all tonights top tips please click on read more.......

Anushka - 8:24 - 18/1

Great odds here for a horse who has a strong record on soft. In this 8 horse race the 6 year old fillie form the Asturteam stable will fancy her chances. In 94 runs, shes picked up 17 wins and 40 placed finishes and I wouldn't discount another win here but perhaps a placed finish is more likely. When last out on soft she finished third in a close finish in Hong Kong and likes the 1 mile distance also.

UV Immune - 8:48 - 26/1

A very busy horse this one this will be four races in five days so hopefully fitness levels will stand up to the 1 mile 6 furlong distance. Won on good in a progress race for juvenile fillies back on the 10th of April and a repeat performance should guarantee at least a place. Has won 3 of her 5 races to date so it may be time for her first placed finish. Strong and exciting expect to see this cham360 fillie storming home with a furlong remaining. Great each way potential.

The best ever - 9:24 -16/1

Going through somewhat of a lull at the moment this 7 year old colt has another good day left in him. Has won 22 and been placed in 37 of his 126 runs to date and while he's no lady killer he can still challenge for honours at these attractive odds. Won last time out on firm in the UK and while another win may be beyond him a placed finish certainly isn't.

Fantastic Craig and Simmo delivers the goods for the tipster!

Congratulations to the Redcliffe stable after last night's great run by Craig and Simmo. The 3 year old colt finished second as predicted on the blogsite and was unlucky not to pick up the win. Tonight the Tri-cast challenge stands at £250 so remember if you're not in you can't win! The lovely Alexis and I will call home your horses tonight so don't forget to tune in at 8pm. As the service is unavailable at present I cannot give tips. However once its back up and running these will be filed asap.

Can Arsenal be the next Liverpool in European football?

Firstly congratulations to the Gunners last night on reaching their first ever European Cup final. Another clean sheet means Arsene Wenger has again etched his name into the Arsenal history books as the first manager to reach such heady heights. However should Barcelona reach the final I just can't see them being beaten. That this side haven't won the Champions league recently is crazy and I'm sure the Catalans will fancy their chances should they overcome AC Milan tonight. Anyway football aside it's set to be another great night on Getminted racing, Mike Lawrence and myself will be in the hotseats at 8 on Sky Channel 850 so see you there. For all tonight's top Getminted racing tips please click on read more.....

Craig and Simmo - 8:12 - 12/1

Well this 3 year old colt really runs well on fast. Four of his six wins so far came on fast and he should be very confident ahead of the 8:12 race in the USA tonight. Normally runs in B division races so this will be a step up as its an A and B division race. Thats why I dont think he's good enough to win just yet and fancy the Redcliffe charge to claim a placed finish. Total stats read 12 races, 6 wins and 2 placed finishes. If he can handle the tougher competition then he should make it 3 placed career finishes at least.

Brzina - 8:36 - 7/1

I think the slavic word 'Brzina' means gear in english but I may be wrong. If it does then owners Champion of the turf will be hoping the 3 year old fillie starts off in a high one on the good going in Hong Kong. On a fantastic run of form she has won in 2 and been placed in 9 of her 14 races to date. Hasn't finished outside the top two in her last four races and has been rested since finishing second on the 17th of April in the U.K. A fine contender at this level, she could well win and at worst should finish in the places.

Pompey play up - 9:12 - 46/1

Brave or silly odds form the bookies here for this heinz fillie? we will have to wait and see. In 76 career runs since last June she's picked up 13 wins and 33 places and has been very consistent in April. A winner last time out on the 18th of April on soft in the UK the result will have given Pompey play up a serious confidence boost and he could be good enough to nick a placed finish in the UK tonight.

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may have noticed that someone else has been writing the blogsite over the last week. My warm thanks to Chelsea fan Dave Lightfoot for taking up the task while I was away. How wonderful it was that my beloved Liverpool dumped Chelski out of the FA Cup when poor old Dave was on duty! Anyway normal service has now been resumed and hopefully we can get a few winners before the end of the week! For all tonight's top tips please click on read more.....

Ray Parker II - 8:48 - 12/1

Didn't ray parker play at the back for Manchester United? Anyway the owners here Sheik Arthur will be hoping their horse finishes nearer the front tonight at tasty odds. In 6 races to date the 2 year old colt has emerged victorious in 2 races and was placed in one. The owners have now realised that the longer distances suit their charge and thats why he's back out over a distance of 2 miles this evening. Two wins last week means this colt is in good form and could be a handy each way punt.

Tayasu Jacob - 8:57 - 15/1

Something of a specialist placed finisher this 4 year old colt has flattered to deliver in the past but when he runs well he can achieve anything. The last of his 9 career wins to date came on the 15th of April in Australia over firm going. We also have firm underfoot tonight in Hong Kong. Total stats read 75 runs, 9 wins and 28 placed finishes. A solid each way bet but a placed finish is probably more likely.

Hundred Reasons - 9:12 - 8/1

This horse has been on fire recently picking up 3 wins and 2 places in his last five races. A real livewire he adores the sprint and if he gets a strong start tonight he'll be hard to catch. Owned by the slowstables he's generated £210 in winnings since being bought on the 18th of March this year.He won his last race on fast in Canada yesterday and if fitness levels remain high he could chalk up win number 5 this evening, solid each way potential.

St George's Day celebrations, but where's St George's Doofer?

On this St George's Day there should have been a few patriotic horses to choose from, but not too many available I'm afraid...

The closest we have tonight is King Alfred in the 20:48 from jonking racing at odds of 5/1 the form isn't great, but it is comparable to the field, with it being better than others in a bad bunch. May I also suggest a look at Eastern Surprise from SCN at odds of 64/1 it could be the each way of the night?

The magic wasn't there.....

Oh dear, oh dear, a bad day yesterday the Chelsea Magic stable just couldn't help in the FA Cup semi - final................

I'm not going to dwell on that too much though, so onwards and upwards. Hopefully have more luck with the tipping instead. In the 20:36 race tonight a place close to my heart (and home) is the favourite Strawberry Hill from Menace at odds of 5/4. The form isn't spectacular but it could be a good'un. Also Bakku-Shan from Black Gate Stable at odds of 30/1 looks like a very promising each way.

Spam in a Can from Meat

Just wanted to pick out the cannily named Meat horse Spam from Canada in the 21:12, the horse has reasonably decent form and at odds of 7/2 it could scrape the win.

Meat has proved he is an owner to keep an eye on, as he is regularly featured in the top end of the results with a good stable of horses.

Gotta take the Chelsea Magic horse for the 20:36

I know it's the favourite and the form isn't outstanding, but I'm following my heart and winding up Graham with a pick in the 20:36 race.

Seeing as it's the FA Cup semi final between Chelsea and Liverpool today I'm gonna need a bit of Chelsea Magic on my side so it has to be Frampton Green at 9/4 for this one.

Blade of War from morse049 at 6/1 could also be in the frame.

Keep an eye out in the 21:12

The 21:12 race certainly looks like it may be full of some surprises and I would encourage you to look through the whole field very closely.

There is some very good form from all of the horses in this race and some of the outsiders at very good odds may well stand a chance of taking the win. I saw JADES BLU JAYE win very easily the other night and Valley Girl from Jaybone is looking pretty good too - especially seeing as Craving Ceri won last night, can the Valley Girl do it again?

Goodbye to Tanky - thanks for the memories

It was an emotional show last night, not just because of the race results, but also because one of Getminted's best known and well loved stables has decided to leave the game.

Tanky was a great guy and excellent owner, he will be sorely missed and we hope it won't be the last we hear from him. If I were an owner I'd be clambering to the sales ring, auctions, claimers etc. to get my hands oon one of Tanky's fine animals as soon as possible.

Good to see things back to normal..... almost

Things seem to have been sorted out regarding the forums situation, but what about the Face to Major Chase?

Some of the entries were hilarious - especially Major's pic of Gareth as a gorrilla!!
Talking of hairy beasts you might want to look at Regal Beast from huntly racing club at 4/1 in the 20:48 race, more than likely it'll be Pompiwin to win seeing as the lovely Ceri is back on tonight

An array of interesting odds and horses in the opener

The first race of tonights hosted show is an interesting one for sure, some well established stables, new ones and quiet ones....

It's definitely worth looking at the two Abaddon horses and the two CELTIC FC entries for an outsider chance.

Chelsea Magic in the 20:48

J Terry from the excellently named Chelsea Magic stables is coming into the 20:48 race with odds of 44/1.
The last few times I've seen this horse it has finished very well and is definitely worth an each way.

Obviously you can see from the form that the horse can be erratic, but it definitely surprises and at these massive odds - you'll be mad not to consider it. Is the magic still there?

Aptly named horse in tonights opener?

Winner Takes All from Heinz at 6/5 is the favourite for the 20:12 race this evening, the form coming into the race seems to indicate otherwise though?

The other Heinz horse Golden Chalice looks a little more promising overall, but has had some poor recent results - another possibility may be TSIN Shine from Stable TSIN at odds of 18/1

Mods and rockers in the 20:36

The first race of the TRICAST features a real battle between the mods and rockers....

We've got Pete Rock from G1 Racing as the favourite at 6/5 versus rod the mod from Kenny31 at 7/1 - also an outsider from the reggae/ska field in (Dr) lucky Lesterfrom fancy lester at 32/1

Back to work, back to business

It's a big opening race for the hosted show tonight, the form on the entries is prett good too with a lot of big owners' horses in the field.

Easter Monday madness

It's been a very good weekend for winners in the competitions on Getminted climaxing with Tracy from Sprite stable picking up the £300 worth of credits in the TRICAST. What horses are worth looking at tonight?

With only 8 horses declared in the first race of the TRICAST it should make it a little easier to get a winner, however the 3 favorites are coming in to the race with some good recent form, I'd put my money on: Vampires Kiss at 5/1

In the second race of the TRICAST it's quite an open field with no real standout horses - the Major Chase horse may be worth a look though.

Finally in the 20:57 it has to be Devious Menz at 5/1

Good luck

Put a face to Major Chase?

Well, all the entries are now in and we've certainly received a great deal - a lot of very funny pictures, a lot of very disturbing pictures, but will we ever get to see the REAL Major?

The winning image will be picked and displayed on Wednesday's show - picking up a nice £50 worth of credits for the winning stable too. Good luck.

Another good tipping night but what's this about Major Chase?!

Overall we did well last night with Scenic view at 12/1 taking a second place finish as predicted in the 9:12. Earlier in the evening Billie Jean Queen did well to get a third place finish at 11/1 so all in all it was a fruitful night. However I was astonished to read that Major Chase has been banned from the forums after posting some humourous remarks. As you may or may not know the forums are controlled by a South African company (raceclubs) rather than ourselves. I know that our producers are trying to contact South Africa to get this ban removed as quickly as possible because Major Chase is one of a kind and a friend of Getminted. For all tonight's top tips please click on read more....

Abumassar - 8:12 - 22/1
At these odds how could anyone not back a horse with two wins in his two previous runs? And on top of that Abumassar from the Stacey Racing stable is fourth favourite in a 13 horse race with some of the field totally out of their depth!Superb for the stable so far this 3 year old has won in 5 and been placed in 10 of his 20 races to date earning £300 in total since being bought on the 19th of March this year. Abumassar has also won on firm in the past and seems to pull out the runs regradless of weight. It should be a bridge too far today for the hatrick of wins though with a placed finish very likely.

Stay in bed Emma - 9:48 - 38/1

Wow, what an Easter weekend it would be if this 2 year old fillie could claim her first ever win in the 9:48. In this Novice Juvenille race experience is at a premium. Stay in bed Emma has only been out once before. On the 7th of April she finished third in Australia over 2 miles on firm and showed great promise. That's why I'm backing her to get a placed finish at these big odds.

I am a specialist - 9:55 - 11/1

Is it me or do names seem to get stranger by the week on Getminted!? I am a specialist is a 3 year old grade 1 male from the El Zorro stable with 2 wins and 2 placed finishes from 7 career runs. A natural born sprinter he destroyed a full field of 14 to get his second win on the 22nd of March. That win was significant as it took place over firm, the same going as we will have in the UK this evening. A really hot prospect he represents good solid each way value.

Nissan 350Z - 8:24 - 13/1

While Nissan's aren't always the fastest of cars this 3 year old colt from the Mafews stable has shown already that he's hot stuff. The Mafews stable joined us on the 24th of November 2003 and are one of the oldest stables still in existence. They've amassed earnings of £3,325 and will hope that their charge can add to this this evening. While Nissan 350Z hasn't raced on firm before he's shown good versatility so far with the exception of a poor run on muddy. In 4 races so far he's won once and been placed in two and should add to one of those stats in the 8:24.

Billie Jean Queen - 8:36 -11/1

This 4 year old fillie from the Mr Majeca stable has been rested since her last race on the 29th of March and should be fighting fit tonight. In two races on firm so far she's finished second in one and sixth in the other and another placed finish looks very possible. Total stats read 40 runs, 4 wins and 19 placed finishes. Two wins and one placed finish in the last five races shows Billie Jean Queen is in good form and if she could keep that going she could even pick up a win.

Scenic View - 9:12 - 12/1

Recent stats look amazing but when we look at them in closer view we see the record isn't as great as it looks opn first glance. While Scenic view has three wins in the last five races two of those came in claiming races. However the result which really interests us is the win on the 8th of April when the 3 year old fillie won in a full field in Hong Kong on firm. Its firm going again tonight in Australia so Scenic View will be confident of doing well. Its a strong field but the ashville trained horse is well capable of doing well, a solid each way bet.

Double delight on Friday Night!

We fared well tonight with both Terrifying Beauty and Highcliff nab getting placed finishes at decent odds. At 8:36 Terrifying beauty finished third at 13/1 while Highcliff nab got a well deserved second place finish in the 9:12 at 10/1. Indeed the nab was very unlucky not to get the win finishing just half a length behind Bahara (UAE).

Celebration time for the tipster!

What a result on Wednesday night when Grey Diva won at the very long price of 18/1 as tipped on this site. It's the biggest win we've had for a while so hopefully many of you backed Grey Diva to victory. It may be Good Friday today but the pagans in studio one will put the horses through their paces from 8pm. Prizes, fun and laughter, its all on Getminted so tune in and make a good friday even better! For all tonight's top Getminted Racing tips please click on read more....

Terrifying Beauty - 8:36 - 13/1

For a race on this going it's suprising that many of the contenders have poor records on fast. However Coolmore Operation's Terrifying Beauty can boast a good recent result . In Dubai yesterday the 7 year old fillie finished third on fast narrowly missing out on a second place finish. Previously of Hackett Racing and before that Gigabyte racing this horse is the real deal. In 81 big runs so far she's benn victorious in 10 and was placed in 25 races. Likes the big occassion and should do well at these odds tonight.

Rocket launcher - 8:48 - 48/1

Really massive odds for a horse who has proved in the past he can win on this going and over this distance. Rocket Launcher of the Stewart M stable is tonight gunning for win number 7 of a 36 race career. The poor virtual thing has been entered in a variety of races recently though and must wonder whats coming next! Has been rested for 4 days since his last race which isn't one to remember. Strong and with huge potential the 5 year old could get up to take a place tonight if things go his way. Hopefully he'll have a strong start and live up to his name.

Highcliff Nab - 9:12 - 10/1

Okay after my long shot Rocket Launcher I suppose I should be more sensible and back a horse favoured by the bookmakers. At 10/1 Highcliff Nab offers great value for a win or place in the 9:12 from Hong Kong. A good horse his win to run ratio has been very poor with only 6 out of 71 races to date. Recent form however has been promising , a win and 3 placed finishes in his last five races says it all. Has had varied success over the good in the past few months and I think he could get a place tonight.

Something to put a smile on your face!

Reasons Riding is Better Than Sex

You don't have to sneak your riding magazines into the house.
If you are having trouble with riding, it's perfectly acceptable to pay a professional to show you how to improve your technique.
The Ten Commandments don't say anything about riding.
If your trainer takes pictures or videotapes of you riding, you don't have to worry about them showing up on the Internet when you become famous.
Your horse won't keep asking questions about other horses you've ridden.
It's perfectly respectable to ride a horse you've never met before, just once, or, ride many horses in the same day, whether you know them or not.
When you see a really good horse, you don't have to feel guilty about imagining riding him.
If your regular horse isn't available, he/she won't object if you ride another horse.
Nobody will ever tell you that you can go blind if you ride by yourself.
When dealing with a riding trainer, you never have to wonder if they are really an undercover cop.
You don't have to go to a sleazy shop in a seedy neighborhood to buy riding stuff.
You can have a riding calendar on your wall at the office, tell riding jokes and invite co-workers to ride with you without getting sued for harassment.
There's no such thing as a Riding Transmitted Disease.
If you want to watch horses on television, you don't have to subscribe to a premium cable channel (but you might need a video tape).
You don't have to be a newlywed to plan a vacation primarily for the enjoyment of riding.

Miss Collins - 8:12 - 8/1

Won when last on muddy on the 2nd of April in the USA and will face this going again this evening in Dubai.Has improved greatly with the age change and April has arguably been the 3 year old fillie's best month in her career. In her three races this month she's picked up a first, second and third place and is in lightening form. Will fancy herself to do better than the 8/1 odds suggests and could even take the win. Serious value for an each way.

Honky Tonkin - 8:48 - 25/1

In a pretty average field of old timers Honky Tonkin could seriously challenge for a place at these strong odds. The 6 year old colt from the Punting Paul stable has a better record on yielding than many of his fellow competitiors tonight and was unlucky not to register a placed finish in his last race on yielding in Australia three days ago. Total stas read 64 runs, 7 wins and 28 placed finishes, that could well be 29 after tonight's race.

Grey Diva - 9:24 - 18/1

Form has taken a dip recently for Grey Diva after an electric run of results. Finishing seventh last time out and eigth before that there was talk of a crisis but when we look at why this has happened we see this horse is much better than those results indicate and that the poor finishes had a hell of a lot to do with weight.Racing on her favoured good going tonight we should see a different improved Grey Diva. In her 15 runs to date the Big Billy trained fillie has won 4 times and been placed in 5. The last of those wins came on good on the 16th of March in the UK. A similar run tonight should be good enough for a top three finish.

Keep the forums pleasant gang!

Hi all, just a quick word about the forums. I like many of you check them daily and I can't help but notice an unhealthy level of silly spats and in fighting there in the last few weeks. I know many owners have decided not to write postings for fear of being ridiculed. If you're grumpy, off colour or like annoying people please enter politics BUT PLEASE TRY TO KEEP THE FORUMS FUN AND INTERESTING. For all tonight's Getminted Rcaing tips please click on read more...

Shades of Naples - 8:57 - 15/1

A good price here for a consistent colt from the boomerang stable. The 4 year old has picked up two wins and two placed finishes in his last five races and has had great form in the UK in the past few weeks. Total stats read 30 runs, 7 wins and 14 placed finishes so at 15/1 it's hard not to consider him for an each way. Rarely runs on soft but should be able to handle it tonight.

Opening bid - 9:36 - 7/1

Make no mistake this 3 year old fillie is a fine contender. Shes earned £267 for her stable already and may well add to that amount this evening. A winner in her last race on the 2nd of April in Australia she's well capable of picking up win number 5 of her 25 race career tonight. I think an each way bet is safer though at decent odds.

Minced Meat - 9:48 - 10/1

I'm sure our old friend from the Meat stable believes his 4 year old colt is far better than his recent results show. A poor March tainted April too and in the last five the best result came on the 6th of April when Mincedmeat finished third out of a field of nine on firm in the UK. Career stats read ; ran 63 , won 5, placed in 16. Okay so thats not amazing but neither is the standard he's up against tonight. Good each way potential.

Another week of Getminted Gold!

So Aintree is over, in the world of real racing we still have the Irish Grand National to look forward to with my tip for that one being Dun Doire who was also succesful at Cheltenham, worth a wee flutter gang. Tonight the Tri-cast challenge stands at £150 so it's certainly worth getting involved. Don't forget if you would like me to cover any particular topic on the blogsite then e-mail your suggestions to getmintedracing@cellcast.tv. Also get your pictures in guys, we would really love to put faces to names as the Getminted family continues to grow.

The works - 8:12 - 9/1

In the first televised race of the evening I've a feeling this 7 year old colt may be back with a bang. The Works last race was on the 18th of April 2005 so he's been out of action for almost a full year. It's great to see this charge from the Scoop stable back on our screens and the horse can't be accused of being over worked thats for sure. In his 12 races he won 3 and was placed in 5 and I'm sure he won't forget where the winning posts are. Not a lover of soft or yielding going he normally runs on firm, fast and good going but should be able to run well this evening. Theres no truth in the rumour that the Works worked for a year on Blackpool beach giving rides to kids by the way! Tonight though he may well bring some glee to our wise punters and at 9/1 is a tidy each way prospect.

The Guardian- 8:57 - 13/1

I'm not backing this one because I'm a guardian reader but rather feel the Claire78 horse may fancy his chances of doing well in his first race as a three year old. In his 34 races to date the colt has picked up 5 wins and 10 placed finishes. Guilty of being rather erratic the owners need to try something different with this boy as he follows up great performances with poor ones. While he hasn't been prolific with wins he's well capable of putting in a strong run if the jockey does the business. Though he's not very experienced on yielding he has done well on the few occassions he's tried this going before. At 13/1 he could suprise in the UK tonight.

Incognito - 9:12 -10/1

I know this 3 year old grey colt is a favourite of many getminted racing pundits and on recent form you can see why. A winner in his last race on the 5th of April Incognito eased past stable mates Check the meaning and Tutankhamen in a race that should have been called the Muggins classic. However it was perfect preparation for this decently staked race and he'll be attempting to add to the £193 he's earned so far for the stable. Total stats read 30 runs, 7 wins and 10 placed finishes. He likes the going and likes the distance and may win here tonight but perhaps an each way punt is a wiser option.

A trio of good results for last night's tips

Well what a fantastic night it was for my tips last night. Firstly Don't bet on me won the 8:57 in style at 6/1. It was only the 7th win the 4 year old colt from the El Zorro had so I'm sure the owners were delighted. Also Woolloomooloo finished third at 12/1 in the 9:12 while Endless Summer at 15/1 managed to pick up a second place despite being away from Getminted races for over two weeks.

Best of luck with the National peeps!

Yes the racing year is flying by and already we're on Aintree Grand National day. After looking at form and checking your tips on the Getminted owners section I've decided to go each way on Hedge Hunter, Le duc, Inca Trail and Colonel Rayburn. Best of luck with your options. One thing we can be sure of is drama and entertainment to the end at Aintree. Tonight though in studio we'll have the lovely Alexis and the dude Dom calling home your horses and if you're unlucky in the National then perhaps you can redeem yourself with Getminted. Don't bet on me - 8:57 - 6/1

The 4 year old colt from the El Zorro stable will fancy his chances of victory in this one. In 48 outings so far his win to run ratio has been poor though picking up just 6 victories in 48 races. He's also managed to nick 21 placed finishes so its not all bad. Don't bet on me won his last race on muddy in the USA two days ago and will aim to make it two on the trot this evening. Has never won on firm before in 5 attempts, this may finally be the breakthrough El Zorro was waiting for.

Woolloomooloo - 9:12 - 12/1

I really like the look of this 4 year old fillie though her last run was a bit of a nightmare. Despite entering a rich vein of form recently she finished back in 10th out of 14 on muddy in Dubai on the 29th of last month. A ten day rest should have done the trick for Woolloomooloo and if she can get back to solid running she'll ceratinly have a wonderful chance of at least picking up a place in the 9:12 race.

Endless Summer - 9:55 - 15/1

Andy gave this horse a wee holiday over the last two weeks as he attempted to avoid burnout for his 6 year old fillie. This girl has been around the houses but now is looking strong. In 38 runs she's won in 8 and been placed in 18. With only one win in 2006 Endless Summer must be feeling its more like a harsh cold endless winter. Tonight though I believe shes good enough to get a place at least. Will have no trouble with the distance and going as she tries to improve on the £305 earned so far.

Grand National and Getminted Tips

Well thank you to the star wars stable who opened the tipping page on the forum for tomorrows Grand National and many thanks too to all of you who submitted your tips. As usual with the National almost half the field get backed before the race as by it's very nature any horse can win. However as expected favorite Clan Royal (5/1) and second favourite Hedgehunter(11/2)were strongly backed for the win. Others mentioned in terms of winning were Jack High (14/1) and Innox (14/1). Joes Edge (20/1), Le duc (40/1) and Inca Trail (50/1) will be firmly backed on an each way by sonme of our owners while Ebony Light, Direct Access, Heroes Collognes, Silver Birch and even 100/1 Puntal have all be cited as horses who may finish in the top few. Best of luck to all of you for tomorrows National. For all tonight's Getminted Racing tips please click on Read more

Double U W Double - 8:24 - 14/1

I am very conscious that I have backed this fillie before but so far have had no return, hopefully she'll repay me for my confidence in her in the 8:24 race from Dubai.Recently bought by the Rich Rockets stable from Masters Racing shes looking for her 7th win in 27 races. Shes also been placed in 11 but has yet to hit her top potential. Her form on muddy has been excellent in the past and on this going 14/1 is an attractive price. Having not raced since the 31st of March she should be fighting fit and has a great chance of a placed finish.

La Bouillote - 9:12 - 11/1

This is perhaps the 5 year old colts favoured going at the moment. In his last race on fast over this distance he won in a race at this grade in a field of 8 in Dubai. Erratic though he had some average runs over fast earlier in his career and will need to have guns blazing if he's going to take the line tonight. Owned by the don't known stable his career winnings to date stand at £826. An each way flutter advised.

Damaged People - 9:48 - 48/1

Two wins and two second placed finishes in his last four races says it all for 'Damaged People'. In the form of his life he's out to make a point tonight. 48/1 are huge odds for this high quality horse from the Island House stable and he'll be confident of improving his stats tonight. They currently stand at 28 races, 5 wins and 15 placed finishes. With a place to run ratio of 54% many may feel thats where he will end up tonight. What do you think?

Good result for Karmaz.. Now I need your top tips

Yes it was good to see Karmaz doing well last night finishing second at 6/1 but the result won't make you rich unless you went big on it. Now I want your tips for the Aintree Grand National on Saturday. Can someone please set up a page on the owners form and mark it for the attention of Graham. In it I want you guys to tell me who you think is going to win the grand national. With the messages in I can put together Getminted tips for all. Please go on there and do it guys, it'll take seconds! Please Click on read more for tonight's Getminted Racing Tips.

Son of Sonic - 8:24 - 38/1

Huge odds for a horse in fantastic form here. Out of the popular big boy steve stable this 3 year old colt has registered victories in 3 and has been placed in 6 of his 12 races to date. His last win came in his last race last Friday when he romped home on yielding in Hong Kong. Moving up a grade here from juveniles but should be able to look after himself and at these odds is a tasty each way option.

No Lipstick - 9:24 - 25/1

I'm such a sucker for long odds but when they come off it's all the better. No Lipstick has been exceptional lately winning three of her last five races. Versatile and strong she's well capable of running any distance except for sprints and is a real contender for glory in the Lucky Text Tip race at massive odds. The 3 year old fillie from the G1 Racing stable has raced 12 times winning in 4 and being placed in 3. While I don't think she'll win tonight I have a strong feeling a placed finish is well within this beauty's grasp.

Epitaph - 9:55 -40/1

A real night for the outsiders tonight. So I've backed a 25/1, 38/1 and now a 40/1 to do the business, daring or what! Epitaph is longer in the tooth than many of the other horses in this field and has raced at a higher grade than many of them also. In 29 races the 3 year old colt has only won once but it's places we're looking for tonight and he's picked up 14 just shy of a 50 percent ratio of places to runs. Has decent recent form on fast and was unlucky not to pick up his second win on the 22nd of March on fast when he was just beaten by Betty Blitzer in Canada. Won't win but may place in the last televised race of the evening.

I know the boys will be happy- Ceri's back tonight!

Yes though Dave Lightfoot and I tried are best last night I fear we can't compare with our Welsh bombshell Ceri! Tonight she and Andrew Cheal will put the horses through their paces on Getminted racing's live show on Sky Channel 850 from 8 to 10pm. Last night the tri-cast challenge went to the wire but wasn't won so it still stands at a healthy £300. Problems with the betting page on the home site seem to have been rectified so it's all guns blazing for another evening of Getminted fun!

Speedy Tanky - 8:36 - 22/1

How could I avoid backing this 2 year old fillie. Owned by the brilliant Dallas1 stable it's called after another loyal owner Tanky so hopefully both will be smiling at the end of this maiden race. Speedy Tanky was bought by Dallas on the 1 st of April so lets hope it wasn't a fool's purchase and that she does well on the muddy in the USA at a big price of 22/1. Remember 'you can't go wrong with a dallas1' !

Karmaz - 9:24 -6/1

A great price for a third favourite this 3 year old colt from the Pro Ev Racing stable has turned the corner it seems and is back where he should be challenging for top honours. After a poor run on muddy in the USA on the 29th of March he came back just two days later to finish second in Dubai again on muddy and many feel that american result was just an unfourtunate blip. Rested for the past four days fitness and confidence levels should be high so I can see this one challenging for the win (which would be the 7th of a 37 race career) but perhaps a place is more likely. The option is yours!

Stone Rose - 9:36 - 62/1

I'm backing the rank outsider to get at least a place under the American sun and heres why. Two of the 3 year old fillies seven wins have come on muddy and she rarely disappoints over this going. A winner in two of her last three races shes improving steadily but may find the competition tonight a bit on the tough side. Still at 62/1 I'm sure owners Lucky Seven will have a small flutter on her and I'd advise you to do the very same in the 9:36 race.

Tri-cast up to £300 - can you afford not to enter?

Thats right, tonight's tri-cast challenge is back up to the maximum £300. If you haven't entered the competition before please click on the tri-cast challenge info to the right for all the details (just below lucky text tip info). With the John Smith's Aintree Grand National coming up on Saturday horse racing fever will once again catch the country so don't miss out on the appetiser that is Getminted Racing's live show on Sky Channel 850. Tonight you have the pleasure of Mr. Dave Rocckstar Lightfoot and little old me so they'll be now boob flashing!!!
For all tonight's top Getminted Racing tips please click on read more...

Upper Slaughter - 8:36 - 12/1

In a competitive field this 6 year old fillie should use all her experience to do well. A winner last time out on fast going in the USA she's in good form also boasting three placed finishes in her last five races. While yielding isn't Upper Slaughter's preferred going she's good enough to do better than she did on yielding in Australia a week and a half ago when she finished fifth. In a long distinguished career she's ran 71 times, winning in 16 and being placed in 23. Tonight she should add to one of those stats at these attractive odds.

Summer Solstice - 9:12 - 17/2

While this Gus Wing fillie isn't a world beater she fares well against these other horses who in fairness have been very poor in recent weeks. This race won't draw too many spectators but may be one to cash in on.In mid size fields Summer Solstice has finished 4th in her last four races. I don't think shes good enough to win but a placed finish is likely. Her stats read 43 runs, 5 wins and 19 placed finishes. I've a feeling she'll hit place number 20 tonight and improve on the £172 earned for the stable so far.

Thundering Crown - 9:24 - 50/1

Massive odds for a horse in fine form. Thundering Crown has won twice in her last three races and will be confident of success tonight even if the bookies aren't. With a win to run ratio of 25 per cent you can see why many at Getminted believe this is the each way tip of the night. It is a big race however and top owners will have their charges primed for success. When last out on good going in England on the 31 st of March the 4 year old fillie won convincingly and will hope the same happens tonight. At these massive odds you must be tempted for an each way.

NO GETMINTED RACING - APRIL 1ST

Don't forget, due to the change in the season there won't be any getminted racing this evening. Hope the addicts can cope until tomorrow!!!!
There was good news this morning for all you ABC people out there with Birmingham City holding Chelsea to a draw. Eventhough I'm a Liverpool supporter I wouldn't mind seeing Man United catching them on the last day of the season. Will it happen, probably not but what I can be certain of is that the horses tipped here will give it 100% and hopefully earn you some money this evening! Well done to Pink N' Preety by the way who finished third last night in the 9:36 race at good odds of 17/2.
