Port Stanley - 8:36 - 12/1

I dont mean to be mean but this is a seriously challenged field. Any decent horse would leave the rest trailing in their wake but such is the poor quality of the field that its very open. I'm therefore opting for Port Stanley who outside of the first and second favourites is the best of a bad lot. The 3 year old from the cotton racing stable has been placed in four of his last five races and was unlucky not to pick up his second career win in USA in mid October. In 31 races he's won just once and has benn placed in just 9, still when you look at some of the other horses in this field he looks like Dawn Run!!! Solid each way contender.

Diablo 796760 - 8:57 - 4/1

I fully expect this promising 2 year old colt to pick up his second career win here in Hong Kong tonight at good but safe odds of 4/1. Following in a long line of talent from the Diablo stable the black dart has been impressive so far, winning once and being placed in two of his four races to date. That win came on soft going (the same type of going as we have for this race this evening) and Diablo 796760 looked expecially impressive decimating a full field of 14.

Hollow Pond - 9:24 - 5/1

I was speaking to someone recently who thought this 4 year old colt was one of the most under-rated horses on getminted. The tightline trained colt has netted almost £2,000 for the stable and is on a solid run of form at present winning in 3 of his last 5 races. In total Hollow Pond has raced 68 times, winning in 19 and being placed in 22. His last win came last Monday when he finished first out of eleven to win a monday madness race in Dubai. Comfortable on all types of going the soft ground wont be a problem tonight though he'd probably like a shorter distance. Still the 20th win is on the cards and a placing almost a certainty.
