Cool, calm and collected!

The Coolmore operation stable isn't the largest you'll ever see but it still oozes quality. This was clearly shown last Saturday when Holy Roman Emperor won the Getminted monthly Challenge final for 2 year old colts pocketing a cool £265 for the yard. The stable have been with us since just before Christmas last year and are just five wins away from the 200 winners mark. With winnings of £8,370 they've shown just what can be done if you choose your horses carefully and get rid of any unwanted driftwood as soon as you realise what's not needed!

Little Jimbob - 8:48 - 7/1

It took this 2 year old colt a little while to get into the swing of things but now that he has theres no stopping him. Owned by the G.Barr stable Little Jimbob has won once and been placed twice in his last three races all in big fields. Since being picked up from the sales ring on the 3rd of October he's earned £35 for the stable, a fraction of his true earning potential. While soft and muddy going seem to be his favourite he should still do well on the good in the UK, a course he's already very familiar with.

Jens - 8:57 - 60/1

I really cant believe the odds for this 2 year old colt here. Partly because some of the other contenders in this field are very average at best. Now Jens is no world beater but in this Special Allowance race I feel he should do far better than these huge odds suggest. In 9 competitive races the pricer trained colt has won twice and been placed in six. This will be only his second race for the yard having transferred from the Coolmore operation stable the day before yesterday! So busy times for Jens, if he can nail a placed finish in this race this evening it could prove to be the best piece of business Pricer will ever do!

Eclipse Knight - 9:24 - 4/1

There are three joint favourites in this race and I believe if any of them are going to cross the line first then it will be Eclipse Knight from the Dallas1 stable. The 2 year old has never won before and his best performances to date have produced two placed finishes in nine races. The colt was unlucky in his last outing on Monday when he finished just half a length behind Wizard of war in a full field. Tonight I fancy him to go one better and land Dallas1's 2,603rd win!!!!!!!!
