Goldengums stable raises a very important point

The following message was posted by the Goldengums stable and it raises a solid issue which all owners (especially new ones) should be aware of.

" I didn't know horses could be so picky - I have re run my horse and found that it can only run on one type of going and at one distance - When it runs to these conditions it produces STAR quaility tt's - otherwise it could be overlooked as an Adv grade 1 horse. How many other horses are there out there like this - I might have killed off dozens!!!! "

It's imperative that you try out your horses over every type of going and distance to ensure you get the best out of them as in real racing. Some horses like dirt tracks others don't. Allow time to check this out before running your horses. I know the temptation to see your latest recruit running in your colours is high but make sure you do the groundwork first.

Monster Magnet - 8:36 - 13/2

What a strange record this 3 year old black colt from the Diablo racing stable has. In 30 races he's won in a massive 13 (43% win to run ratio) but has only been placed in 4! It seems that when he's in form Monster Magnet is impossible to beat but if he wakes up on the wrong side of his straw bed then he loses interest. In the earlier part of his career this boy had great success on fast going but in the last few months that love affair with fast going has frozen over. Hopefully at a nice price tonight the Diablo Destroyer can return to good form on fast and may even win. Good each way chance.

Nang Kwak - 8:57 - 14/1

Its been a case of 'always the bridesmaid never the bride' recently for this Abaddon trained colt! Maybe that should read 'always the bestman, never the groom'!!! Anyway the popular 4 year old colt has trailed in second in his last three races especially unlucky not to pick up a win on the 11th of August in Australia when he finished just a third of a length behind mosey along in a level weight race for 4 to 7 year old colts. In 72 runs Nang Kwak has won in 15 and been placed in 32 bringing in £1,145 in prize winnings thus far. An impressive horse that elusive 16th win will come soon but I predict a place here tonight at great odds.

Squirrel Nutkin - 9:12 - 7/1

I've always been a fan of this horse since his time with the Diablo racing and LUFC stables. Now settling in to the Socrates stable he's hoping to pick up his 22nd win and the yard's 35th. It seems however the 6 year old colt could be on the move again after the owners entered him in a claiming race three days ago. Squirell Nutkin answered his critics well winning in that race and will be out to prove that he's not past his best tonight.Showing a high level of consistency of late I think he certainly has a chance of victory in the 9:12 race down under but would favour an each way punt.
