Pile in on it - 8:26 - 6/1
Fantastic odds here for a second favourite. Pile in on it from the Doofus stables has an excellent record on good going and will look forward to tonight's challenge. In 89 runs the 5 year old colt has picked up 22 wins and 29 placed finishes. The most recent of those wins came on soft back on the 22nd of April in Hong Kong. However the most significant result to consider was when he last ran on good going on the 31st of March. In a strong field of 13 he romped home in deadly style. Has a great chance of winning though the bookies feel certain that Grand Wizard wont be beaten. I think a win is possible and a placed finish is certain.
Belinda Carlisle - 8:57 - 18/1
Will heaven be a place on earth for owners Meat tonight? Will our old friend be drawing circles in the sand in honour of his 3 year old fillie Belinda Carlisle?!!! I think this excellently named girl can do well despite these long odds. In 14 races to date shes won in 3 and been placed in 8. Recent form has been solid after the move from small stable races to C division runs. Is well used to this distance and wont have a problem with the soft going either. A good start is crucial for Belinda Carlisle, if she gets it she'll be singing all the way to the line! Each way shot.
Crest of a wave - 9:36 - 18/1
Another 18/1 shot with a chance this evening. Crest of a wave has been strong recently but there are still question marks regarding the 4 year old fillie's prospects on soft going. Coming into this race on the back of a win in a small field of 3 in Dubai she's progressively becoming more consistent and will benefit from a one week rest. If she can mix it up with the stronger horses in the opening four furlongs she may have a chance of nicking a place but a win is still a bridge too far I fear.
